Our Programs

Our programs are designed around each individual’s needs and implemented in the least restrictive environment for the safety and well being of the individual. Our programs encourage individuals to grow in self-assurance and respect while enjoying their rehabilitation, residential, vocational, and recreational experiences.

Day Program

Our Day Program / Adult Training Facility Program provides activities for adults 21 and over with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, which enable them to lead successful lives and connect to their community in meaningful ways.

Aging Program

Our Aging / Senior Program offers a quality day program for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities that have decided to retire from work or traditional day services, yet still want to remain as active as possible.

Work Activities Center

Our Work Activity Center (WAC) Program is designed to provide a well-rounded vocational training experience for adults 21 and over with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. WAC program participants earn a paycheck while learning job skills and concepts.

Community Homes

Helping Hands currently has six community homes. Our residential program is designed to offer families the comfort and security of knowing that the unique challenges their loved ones face are being met in a warm, caring, home-like setting.  Not only are residents’ medical, dental, and health requirements accommodated, but also all specialized nutritional needs.

Social Recreation Programs

Our Socialization and Recreation Program is ever-expanding and always open for new suggestions. With activities such as swimming, bowling, movie nights, sleepovers, sporting events and more, we strive to provide adequate socialization for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

Summer Camp

Our Camp / Shore Summer Program provides an age-appropriate socialization experience for anyone over the age of 18. The first four weeks of the summer are designated as ‘Camp’ weeks, which cater to those individuals who would prefer a structured, summer camp type of atmosphere. The remaining 7 weeks of the summer are designated as ‘Shore’ weeks, providing a vacation-like atmosphere.
