NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2017 NOTES

 

 

 

FUNDRAISERS- FUNDRAISERS- FUNDRAISERS-

 

 

 

~NEW! NEW!  This year, we will be participating in a gift card fundraiser called Scrip.  Scrip is just a way to pay for everyday purchases using gift cards in place of cash, checks, and credit cards.  You purchase gift cards from your organization at face value, and your coordinator orders those cards from Great Lakes Scrip Center at a reduced price. The difference is an instant rebate for Helping Hands, Inc.  It’s really that simple!   Simply return the attached form with your check made out to Helping Hands, Inc.  We will be placing two orders for the season. The first order is due by October 31, 2017 and the second no later than December 5, 2017.  All orders will arrive prior to Christmas.   The order form for this fundraiser is attached.


 

~The Poinsettia Flower Sale Fundraiser forms are also attached!!   If you would like a form in color, please let us know, or check it out on our website. Orders are due December 4, 2017.Flowers will arrive on Friday, December 15th and will be available for pick up after noon on that day.  If you order more than ten plants, we will deliver to your home or business. 


 

~Helping Hands will once again be having our Gift Wrap Fundraiser at the Coventry Mall this holiday season.  We are in need of volunteers for many hours for the booth. If you would like to volunteer for a 2-hour shift, please contact Wendy at the office.  Contact the office for further information, or more information will be available soon on our website. Thank you for your continuing support.  

 

~The 2017 Reppert’s Christmas Candy forms are not yet completed.  The forms will be distributed in the near future, and will be posted on the agency website and on our Facebook page.

 

  1. Reminder that Connie will mail out an invoice at the end of each month, so there is no need to mail payments for activities or shore weekends prior to the activities.
  2. We now have a new agency email for contact with the office- HHIinfo@helpinghandsinc.com
  3. The Helping Hands Bowling program will have our end of season party on Sunday, November 26th,Feel free to bring along a snack for the group.   WE DO NOT HAVE BOWLING ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 2017 due to the shore weekend and a bowling tournament. We plan to take a break until Sunday, January 21, 2018.
  4. The Helping Hands Wallyball Program resumed on Monday evening, October 9, 2017. We practice each Monday from 7:30-8:30pm. Feel free to send along a few dollars for a snack or drink afterwards, as we relax before the return home. We will have wallyball through Monday, December 11,Wallyball will resume on Monday, January 22, 2018. If you would like to be part of our wallyball league, please register with the office.
  5. The Special Olympics Swim Team at the Boyertown YMCA will begin on Wednesday, November 29th from 7:15pm- 8:00pm. Please note that the time is limited to the above listed schedule in the pool, so we suggest being there early enough for time to change, etc. Also, if you would like to be on the transportation schedule, you will need to contact theWe will have our Christmas Holiday Party on December 20th at the Boyertown Multi-Service Center at 7:00pm. Practice for Helping Hands will resume on January 17th, 2018.  The rest of the team will resume practice on January 3rd, so feel free to go to the pool individually without transportation or staffing.
  6. Please remember that the Soc/Rec program has our designated agency cell phone for receiving calls prior to and during activities. That number is 610-506-6723. We will still check messages at the office, however this should be the number you contact for last minute cancellations,The agency cell phone will be used at each activity.
  7. Please do not be shy if I forgot a birthday in the newsletter, or if there was a misprint on the date! will address and fix for the future.   
  8. Reminder that Helping Hands implemented a procedure for anyone who cancels after being registered for an activity where there is an admission ticket purchased. If HHI is not able to replace that slot with another participant, you will still be billed for that activity.  Please note that staffing, vehicles, and tickets are determined by the registrations received, and up until this point, HHI has lost that money.
